Saxon Inspector UAS, the Most Rugged Drone in the Market

The Saxon Inspector UAS is what we consider the world’s most rugged multi-copter. Starting around $16,000 the Inspector was designed to withstand adverse weather conditions, such as high winds, extreme heat, and frigid environments.

Construction:

The Saxon Inspector is constructed of aircraft aluminum, we do not use carbon fiber, like most of our competitors (with the exception of the motor arms). Carbon fiber acts as a signal block for RF which could cause loss of communications. Losing comms with an aircraft could result in catastrophic loss or failure of a critical mission.

The Saxon Inspector Battery Management System is a C&C Machined interface between the battery and aircraft. This component is a sparkless interface that allows the operator to quickly change out batteries and set up on a charging bank. The Battery interlock will keep the battery firmly positioned in the lower fuse while in flight.

Place the battery in the main body receiver, ensure locking pins line up. Slide the battery forward to lock in place. The aircraft will be powered on at this point. This battery connection is sparkless.

The Saxon Inspector Motor Arms are constructed of reinforced carbon fiber as stated above. The Motor Mounts are C&C machined in house and the Electronic Speed Controllers are placed within the mounts for protection from dust, rain, etc.

The connectors inside the motor arm are also machined in house. For our customer’s convenience, we deliver the Saxon Inspector Drone with removable Motor Arms or Folding Arms.

Inspector Motor Arm Connectors

The Inspector UAS is a fully autonomous system with no Chinese components. The Ground Control Station is a Panasonic Toughpad built into a complete ergonomic hand control station with our version of Q GCS software. This allows the pilot to fly the aircraft with complete hands-off unless the pilot chooses to maintain positive control. Our C2 link setup allows the pilot to have either a standard RC Transmitter for manual control or assisted autonomous flight operations. This means that the pilot can fly fully autonomous or can make adjustments with the manual transmitter while on a fully autonomous mission.
