PLH3D-6W-XF professional engraving laser head offers high power and excellent ease of use. Improvements to the electronics allow the laser head to be powered by 12 – 24V, enabling compatibility with power supplies of nearly all CNC machines and 3D printers.

The focus distance can be quickly set or changed via the included lens adjuster (no additional tools). The driver of the unit is integrated directly on the laser head. This greatly increases the maximum modulation frequency and allows longer cables to be used.

Control Inputs

The laser head has two separate controls. Input #1 accepts 0 – 5V for analog power modulation. Input #2 accepts 0 – 24V for TTL/PWM and turns on the laser when the voltage exceeds 2.5V. (Input #1 can also be used for PWM if #2 is dedicated for TTL only.)

Improved Heat Sinking

This lightweight 220g (7.8oz) laser head requires no additional cooling. The body acts as a heat sink, and the fan design allows it to function as an air nozzle protecting the lens from smoke, while also cooling the laser head. Performing tests on several prototype designs allowed us to optimize the heat sink’s shape and enable efficient cooling while maintaining the module’s notably small form factor.

Accessory for Smoke

The laser head allows engraving or cutting of materials such as wood, stainless steel, paper, leather, cardboard and many others. For materials that generate smoke when engraved or cut, we offer an optional nozzle that is attachable to the front of unit via magnets built into the laser head (see accessories).


The PLH3D 6W incorporates a thermal protection system that protects the laser diode from overheating to maintain its lifetime. The unit is designed to automatically shut off when the housing temperature exceeds 47C. The analog input is protected by a 5V Zener diode in case on occasion there appears the voltage higher than 5V. Despite everything, this input should not be used with higher voltages due to risk of damage. The laser diode is protected via a Schottky diode, which protects it from a reverse voltage and ESD. In addition, the integrated driver is fully covered to protect it from metal chips in a CNC machine environment.

Alternative functionality
Besides the standard functionality, the small beam spot allows the possibility of using this product for rapid PCB prototyping. This is done by illuminating copper layer of plates after a photosensitive paste is applied.

Remember that it is not a toy.
Laser radiation is dangerous even when scattered or reflected from any surface.
Always use proper protection laser filter on your CNC machine dedicated to 430 – 480nm in order to avoid reflected radiation.
Never point laser head at people or animals.
Do not touch the beam, it may cause burns or other injury.
Do not stare at the beam or the beam spot while the material is being cut.
Laser radiation – Avoid eye or skin exposure to direct or scattered radiation.

In order to initiate the return process please contact us within 14 days from the delivery receiving date of your items. We only accept products in their original condition. Please note that we cannot process any products that are returned without our prior knowledge. If you wish to return single or multiple parts of your order please contact with us firstly. We return money within 14 days after receiving the items. The refund policy does not include the shipping costs. If optical accesories were open, we are not able to accept return.

    Basically you need to wire the laser head do the controller. I gathered information from few places to make it easier to understand ;) PLH3D-6W-XF accepts signals: Analog input: 0-5V analog signal current flowing through the laser diode is proportional to the voltage. 0-10V signal can be used. Laser will work with regulated power in 0-5V range while over 5V will give maximum output power. This way user can use G-Code in range S0 - S127 and this way work in proper range. TTL/PWM input 0-5V TTL/PWM signal 0-10V TTL/PWM signal 0-24V TTL/PWM signal Compliance with CNC signals: Using controller and PWM/ANALOG output you use G-Code command to change spindle speed, for example S0 - S255. The same signal connected to laser head (not the spindle) will regulate the power of the laser. So it makes the connection very convenient and easy to apply. This way our laser heads are universal and accepts all signals used in CNC industry.

    Hi Edward, We do not have dedicated attachment for CNC Shark. Laser head has its own 4 holes for mounting and usually people are milling or 3D printing some simple holder. Please let us know if you need more help!
