The full EUmark machine — both black oxide marking and deep etch — in a complete kit. Permanent part identification applied in 2–5 seconds, about 0.001″ deep, with no heat input, no burrs and no change to hardness, geometry or fatigue life. All four electrolytes included, each with a safety data sheet. 110/220 V, ready for US, EU and UK.

EUmark Set 01 — complete etch marking kit, black oxide and deep etch

Most parts that need a permanent identity also need it applied without changing anything else. Stamping deforms. Rotary engraving removes load-bearing material. Laser marking puts energy into the surface that has to be justified on fatigue-critical and corrosion-critical hardware, and brings an enclosure and a safety program with it.

Electrochemical etch marking solves the problem from a different direction. A low-voltage current carries an electrolyte through a stencil into the part and converts the surface chemistry in the open pattern. Nothing melts, nothing is displaced, nothing is cut away.

What makes Set 01 different from the compact sets

Set 01 is built on the full marking unit, which runs both marking modes:

  • Black oxide marking — shallow, high-contrast dark mark. What most identification work calls for.
  • Deep etch, light marking — a recessed mark with real depth, for identification that has to stay legible through further finishing, handling or a service life of abrasion and cleaning.

The compact sets — 05, 06 and 07 — produce black marking only. If a drawing calls out etch depth rather than contrast alone, or if the mark has to survive media blasting, tumbling or years of wear, the full machine is what covers it. Set 01 is the least expensive way to get it.

What Set 01 does not include

There is no stencil printer in this kit. You mark with long-life photo stencils, which we produce from your artwork and which run up to 5,000 marks each.

That is the right arrangement when the marking content repeats — a maker’s mark, a company logo, a fixed part identifier, a certification mark. It is the wrong arrangement when every part carries a different number. If you are marking variable serial numbers, lot codes or dates, specify SUPER SET 04, which includes a stencil printer and software that generates the numbers.

A stencil printer can also be added later; it is sold separately and works with this machine.

Marking specifications customers bring us

  • MIL-STD-130 — identification marking of US military property, where chemical etch appears among the accepted permanent methods for metal items
  • SAE AS9132 — data matrix quality requirements for parts marking, where acceptance rests on contrast and cell fill rather than on the marking technology
  • FDA UDI direct marking, 21 CFR 801.45 — reusable devices reprocessed between patients, where the identifier must outlast the cleaning and sterilization life of the instrument
  • AS9100 / ISO 13485 traceability — part and lot identification inside your quality system

Straight answer on certification: the equipment does not hold one, and no marking equipment does. Compliance attaches to the marked part and to your qualification of the process that produced it. What this kit gives you is a short variable list — current mode, dwell time, electrolyte, felt saturation, stencil condition — which makes that qualification quick to write and easy to hold.

What the process does to the part

Property Effect Why it matters
Heat input none No HAZ to disposition on heat-treated or age-hardened alloys
Recast layer none No micro-cracking initiation site on cyclically loaded parts
Residual stress none added Fatigue allowables unchanged; no shot peen rework triggered
Material removal ~0.001″ surface conversion Safe on thin wall sections and finished dimensions
Burrs and raised edges none No deburr operation after marking; nothing to snag on sealing faces
Hardness and temper unchanged Marking happens last, on the finished part
Corrosion resistance preserved Neutralize with N11, then passivate to your existing procedure

The four fluids, and why they are the part of this kit that matters most

Marking units are broadly similar across the industry. Electrolytes are not, and they are where the result actually comes from.

Fluid How it behaves Reach for it when
M21 Self-cleaning. Gets a high number of marks out of one wetting of the felt. Running a batch. The operator is not stopping to re-wet or wash the felt between parts — which is where the real cycle time in manual marking gets lost.
M22 Very dark mark, and the fluid used for deep etch. Requires the felt to be washed after use. Maximum contrast, or a print calling for etch depth rather than surface contrast alone.
M23 Non-corrosive, formulated for marking highly corrosion-sensitive materials. Wipe the surface with a dry cloth after marking — that is the whole post-process. Corrosion-critical hardware, or any part where a wet neutralizing step is impractical.
N11 Neutralyte Protects the marked surface after etching. Standard finishing step after M21 or M22.

Read this before you order: the table is a recommendation, not a specification. Alloy, condition, finish and prior processing all change the outcome, so trial marking on your own material is a required step, not a nice-to-have. Send a coupon and we will run the first trial for you.

Formulation and safety data sheets

The strongest argument for these fluids is not the mark. It is that they are formulated to the requirements applied in medical, aerospace and food-contact manufacturing, and that every fluid ships with a safety data sheet. Quality and EHS functions need those sheets for incoming inspection, hazard communication and the audit file. In a regulated shop an undocumented consumable does not get approved for the floor no matter how well it performs — which is precisely why shops replacing an unbranded electrolyte end up here. A 200 ml bottle delivers up to 20,000 marks.

Stencils and artwork

Send artwork as a vector file — SVG, DXF, AI or EPS — and we will produce a long-life photo stencil from it.

What reproduces well and what does not. Thin lines, outlined text and open lettering mark cleanly. Thick strokes and large solid black areas should be avoided: the electrolyte does not pass evenly through them and the mark comes out patchy. Where a logo is heavy, an outlined version of it marks far better than a filled one. Strokes below about 0.008″ (0.2 mm) tend to close up. Send us the file with the part finish before you commit to a stencil and we will tell you what will hold.

Qualifying it in your shop

  1. Mark coupons in your production alloy across a dwell time range, in both modes.
  2. Verify contrast, depth and legibility against your acceptance criteria.
  3. Neutralize with N11, passivate to your existing procedure, then run your standard corrosion check on the marked coupon.
  4. Record the accepted parameter window in the work instruction and set a stencil replacement interval.

We supply marked sample coupons in your own material on request, so the first-article conversation happens before the purchase order rather than after it.

Questions we get

Can I mark hardened and age-hardened parts?

Yes, and that is the main reason customers move to this process. There is no thermal or mechanical input, so hardness, temper, geometry and fatigue life are unaffected. Marking is performed on the finished, final-inspected part.

What is the difference between this and the compact sets?

The machine. Set 01 runs black oxide marking and deep etch; the compact sets 05, 06 and 07 run black marking only. If you will never need depth, a compact set costs less. If you might, buying the compact machine first and the full machine later costs more than buying this one now.

Does marking affect corrosion resistance on stainless?

Not when the marked area is neutralized with N11 and passivated along with the rest of the part under your existing procedure. Confirm it once on a coupon during qualification and record the result.

Can it be used in the field or at a customer site?

Yes. The unit measures 6.3 by 6.3 by 2.6 inches and needs only a bench and a wall outlet. MRO and field service customers use it for replacement part identification and repair tagging.

Where does it ship from, and what will landed cost be?

Orders dispatch from Serbia and ship worldwide. Duties, tariffs and import handling vary by destination and change often. Tell us the delivery country before you order and we will provide the tariff classification, the shipping method and a landed cost estimate in writing.

Before you buy

Send the alloy, part geometry, mark content and annual volume, and we will confirm the right configuration — including telling you if a compact set covers it.

Tariff: To minimize or avoid high tariffs, we ship from the country where the product is made, such as China, ItalyTaiwan, Canada, or Europe. If applicable, you will pay the tariff in your country before delivery. The total amount of your order does not include a tariff.

Product Support: You don't need to contact our manufacturer or supplier for support before or after your purchase. We'll help you resolve any technical issues you may have. We answer emails with real people, not AI, chatbots, or community forums!

Ships From: On this product page, check the Ships From: label to see which country the product ships from. We do not ship all of our products from the USA, except for products made in the USA or in stock. We ship most products from regions such as China, Italy, Taiwan, and Europe, as well as other countries. Therefore, the tariff depends on the country of origin, as not all countries charge the same rate. For example, if the US imposes a 30% tariff on goods from China, in contrast, other countries may impose a lower tariff or none at all.

Tariff vs. Shipping Fee: Please don't confuse the shipping fee with the tariff, because they are two separate charges. You pay us a shipping fee for the carrier to deliver your order to your door. You pay the tariff to the customs office, a branch of your government, as an import tax.

Why aren't we adding tariffs to the product's retail price? If all countries imposed the same tariff amount and used the same currency, we would have added that tariff to the product's retail price. Our suppliers and we are not responsible for tariffs. Please shop accordingly.

Shipping Costs: For some products, we calculate shipping fees based on weight and package size. Some items ship with batteries, which require special delivery for safety, resulting in a slightly higher cost. For lower shipping costs on multiple items or bulk orders, please email us the product link, the quantity, your country, state, and ZIP code, so we can help you lower the shipping cost. Thank you.

Attention! We'll email you the tracking number so you can follow your parcel. The shipping company will contact you by phone, text, or email to arrange payment of the tariff on their website. As the customer, you're responsible for responding to their calls, texts, or emails. You can also use the tracking number link we emailed you to contact the shipping company or pay any applicable tariffs online, if you haven't already done so.

Heads Up! We're not responsible if the shipping company returns your parcel to the country of origin due to the unpaid tariff or non-compliance with its requirements. As a result, you will be responsible for the reshipping costs, applicable tariffs, and an additional 20% service fee. We will not accept any excuses for failing to follow up with the shipping company regarding the tariff, and we will not issue a refund.

Please check your SPAM folder! To provide you with delivery information, we will add your email address to the shipping website so you receive delivery notifications until your parcel reaches your shipping address. Please always check your spam folder to ensure you receive emails from Oz Robotics, USPS, UPS, DHL, and FedEx. Please let us know if you don't want us to enter your email on the shipping company website.

Return Policy

5 Hours: If a mistake occurs during purchase, you have 5 hours to request a refund for any reason, including if you don't want to pay the tariff. However, Stripe will not refund its processing fee if you cancel your order; therefore, we cannot refund it.

All Sales Are Final: After 5 hours, we can't cancel your order with a refund because order cancellations incur multiple transaction processing fees from Stripe and PayPal, additional shipping fees, reverse tariff payments, and paid ads, all of which are costly and time-consuming. For technical issues, we'll assist you in resolving problems and provide a replacement if you can prove that the product has a manufacturing defect.

Exchange Policy: We want you to be happy with your new purchase. However, once you have used the product, we can't issue a refund, but we will offer an exchange for a product with irreversible manufacturing defects or technical issues. If you purchased the wrong product, then you will be responsible for the reshipping fees and tariffs. If the product is defective, please email us ASAP with photos or a video of the faulty part so we can evaluate the issue before arranging a replacement.

Terms and Conditions

Delivery Date/Time: If the shipping company can't deliver your parcel because you weren't at your delivery address on the scheduled date/time, that is not our fault. If the carrier returned your parcel to the manufacturer from the country where it was shipped, that is outside our control. Therefore, you will be responsible for paying the re-shipping cost and any applicable tariff for any re-shipment request. In such a case, we will not issue a refund.

We know for a fact that some customers place an order and then go on vacation. Please note that since Donald Trump ended the $800 de minimis exemption, low-value international shipments no longer enter duty-free. All incoming packages of $800 or less, even for a product costing $1, are now subject to regular country-specific import duties, processing fees, and full customs checks. Therefore, even if you are on vacation, you will need to keep an eye on your emails, phone calls, and text messages to pay the tariff until it is delivered to your shipping address.

Warranty: We cover problems caused by manufacturing defects, not those resulting from faulty repair attempts, misuse, or customer accidents.
