The JID NFC reader is specially designed to provide one of the most used functions of an NFC reader: reading the NFC card’s serial number (UID) only. It works with all NFC cards based on ISO14443 A/B and ISO15693 standards. The JID reader supports HID (Human Interface Device) and CDC ACM (USB communications device class—Virtual COM Port) interfaces, meaning you can use it without installed software or drivers. It is an accurate plug-and-play NFC reader. In HID usage, the primary function of this NFC device is to read the UID (card serial number) of an NFC card and input the data into the selected text field (i.e., Excel Sheet, login screen, etc.) using the built-in keyboard emulation feature.

JustID (JID) is an NFC reader based on 13.56MHz contactless (RFID) HF technology.

In CDC ACM usage, card UID (card serial number) is an asynchronous transmitter to the Virtual COM Port on any terminal or software that uses COM Port.JustID NFC reader is designed as an entry-level device, but it can be upgraded (via firmware upgrade) with more advanced features. Apart from USB connectivity, the JustID NFC reader also has a UART TTL connectivity option. In this option, like in CDC ACM usage, card UID is asynchronously transmitted from a real UART port. Use it to connect to embedded devices such as microcontrollers, single-board computers (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, BeagleBone, etc.), or other devices with a UART TTL interface.

All models are available for purchase with customized/personalized labels or as OEM PCBs.

Who is it for?

JustID RFID NFC Reader is a device for anyone interested in reading serial numbers (UIDs) from NFC cards. No matter the age or skill set, anyone connecting the JID reader to a host platform, such as a PC, tablet, or mobile phone, can read NFC cards/tags. The most typical usage for JustID reader is inventory/asset management, login, attendance tracking, loyalty programs, library management, etc.

  • Lite (ISO14443 A/B UID reading): This NFC RFID UID Reader /keyboard emulator supports HID (Human Interface Device) and CDC ACM (USB communications device class—Virtual COM Port) interfaces, ISO/IEC 14443 A/B cards, and tag UID reading.
  • Standard (+ ISO15693 UID reading): The JustID Standard variation keeps all the JustID Lite features and also provides support for ISO/IEC 15693, enabling compatibility with popular card types like ICODE DNA, ICODE SLIX (SLIX, SLIX-S, SLIX-L, SLIX 2), and ICODE ILT (ILT, ILT-M). It also empowers your device to work flawlessly with I-Code SLI, Tag-it HF-I Plus, TI-RFid HF-I Pro, and many other cards and tags.
  • Plus (+ DES/AES authentication enabled): In addition to the inherited features from the Lite and Standard variations, the JustID Plus reader unlocks advanced security features, including DES/AES authentication for DESFire, MIFARE Plus, and NTAG 424 DNA tags, taking this NFC reader/keyboard emulator to the highest level of functionality and protection.

Hardware

JustID NFC Reader’s hardware is based on PN7462, one of the latest NFC controllers from NXP. The NFC reader’s operating frequency is 13.56MHz, and it supports ISO14443 A/B and ISO15693 standards for HF contactless communication and data transmission. JID NFC reader supports working with all ISO14443 and ISO15693 NFC cards/tags, including (but not limited to):

  • MIFARE Mini®,
  • MIFARE Classic® (1K, 4K, EV1),
  • MIFARE Ultralight®,
  • MIFARE Ultralight C®,
  • MIFARE Plus® (2K, 4K, S, X, EV1),
  • MIFARE DESFire® (Light, 2K, 4K, 8K, EV1, EV2),

Besides, this tool supports all other tags compatible with the list above. Even though the supported technologies list is already vast, our development team constantly works on product improvements and upgrades, staying in line with this technology’s global trends. THIS RFID MODEL IS ALSO AVAILABLE AS AN OEM NFC MODULE. The OEM board is available in three versions:

  • USB – with standard USB A-type connector
  • UART TTL – with the 5-pin male header connector
  • RS-232 – via an adapter with a DB9 connector.

Firmware

JustID NFC reader’s firmware comes in four versions users can choose from, starting from the most basic functionality to the most advanced:

  • JustID Lite: Reading ISO14443 A/B UID only
  • JustID Standard: Reading ISO14443 A/B and ISO15693 UID
  • JustID Plus*: Enables DES/AES authentication for DESFire, MIFARE Plus, and NTAG 424 DNA tags
  • JustID VAS**: Enables reading NFC passes from iOS phones using Apple VAS (Apple Value Added Services)

Firmware can be upgraded anytime by entering the purchased firmware’s license number. For instance, you can purchase a device with JustID Lite firmware and upgrade it to JustID VAS anytime by purchasing an additional firmware license.* ETA 08.10.2023** ETA 01.12.2023

WE SHIP WORLDWIDE: We primarily ship via FedEx, UPS, DHL, and USPS because they’re reliable, fast, and easily trackable. We usually ship within two to three business days after the full payment. Standard delivery generally occurs within 5 to 7 business days after the shipping date. However, the delivery may take about 7 to 10 business days, depending on the shipping destination, logistics, weather conditions, product weight, size, or shipping company distribution structures.

SHIPPING COSTS: For some industrial products, e.g., heavy wheels, CNC machines, etc., the shipping cost is calculated based on the product weight, not quantity. To benefit from lower shipping costs for orders with multiple items, please contact us at sales@ozrobotics.com. Our shipping rates are listed clearly on each product page under the SHIPPING tab. Additionally, to see the shipping cost for your country, add the item to the Shopping Cart; you will see the shipping cost based on your Country and Location.

CUSTOMS and TARIFFS: While not all products require a tariff, some products may require a minimal tariff if applicable in your country. The total amount for your order does not include a customs fee/tariff. The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) deducts import tax, or customs duty, on goods valued over $800 USD from customers located in the US. A tariff belongs to the buyer when applicable. Why don't we add tariffs to the product's retail price? - If all countries deducted the same tariff amount, we would have added the tariff amount to the product price. However, we do not do that because each country charges a different amount, while some do not even charge. Therefore, we can't add any tariff to the product's retail pricing. Return Policy

WITHIN 5 HOURS: Mistakes happen when ordering, so you have 5 hours to request an order cancellation, but we cannot refund the PayPal or Stripe Processing fee because they do not refund us.

AFTER 5 HOURS: After 5 hours, your order has either been shipped, prepared to ship, or custom-made. If you still want to cancel your order after 5 Hours, we will deduct 30% of the total for restocking + PayPal or Stripe processing fees and the Return Shipping cost for unopened packages.

AFTER RECEIVING YOUR ORDER: If you decide not to keep your order after it arrives, we will deduct 80% of the total if we find it refundable after a review. Please see our Refund and Replacement Policy

EXCHANGE POLICY: Oz Robotics wants you to be happy with your new purchase. However, we abide by the exchange policy of our suppliers because we do not manufacture these products; our suppliers do. Once you use the product, our supplier(s) and we have the right not to issue a refund. Still, we will offer an exchange for wrongly purchased items or products with serious and irreversible defects or technical problem(s). The buyer will pay the shipping fee for wrongly purchased products or similar issues. REFUND POLICY: Oz Robotics accepts refunds on a minimal basis unless there is a manufacturing defect. For electronic items, returns are only accepted on devices with serious and irreversible problems; meanwhile, the customer must apply for the returns within seven days of delivery. Before a refund acceptance, please include images or a video and any other proof of the defect. However, we abide by the exchange policy of our suppliers because we do not manufacture these products. Other than our supplier's default policy, once a return is agreed upon, you can ship your defective item to the provided return address that you should receive from us first. Please ship the order in original packaging with all the accessories and additional parts. If the Required Parts are not sent back, they will be billed for or expected to be shipped later. And only once all items have arrived will our staff check the returned product for testing. Include in your package a signed letter stating the reason for your return, the original receipt, proof of defect, images, a video, etc. It will help us to speed up the process on your behalf.

The purchaser (customer/buyer) is responsible for all shipping costs when returning an item. However, upon receiving the returned order, we will assess the product. If it is determined that there is, in fact, a manufacturing defect, then we will refund the shipping costs as well as repair or replace or refund the full amount to the purchaser if the product is not fixable.

If you wish to return an unused product, please do so within seven days from the ship date for a refund on the purchase price minus shipping and handling. Refunds will be credited to the original credit card used for payment 24-48 HOURS after receiving the product back. We will charge a 80% of the total for restocking + PayPal or Stripe processing fees and the Return Shipping cost for unopened packages.

Once your return is received and inspected, and if you agree to a refund, refunds will be credited to the original credit card used for payment in 24-48 hours. Please note that we will charge an 80% restocking fee once you return a product without any defect.

Once your refund is processed, PayPal will return the money to the card used. It may take at least five business days (depending on the bank and credit company) before your refund is posted in your bank account and statements. Contact Us if you have not received your refund after five business days.

Do not return your product to our New York office. For any exchange or refunds, please email us first at support@ozrobotics.com for us to provide you with the steps that need to be followed.
