GBS10/50 – A Patented Parachute Safety System Designed for UAVs up to 5kg
Energy stored in the pyrotechnic gas generator allows the parachute to be ejected in less than 200 ms, and the canopy fully opened within 800 ms. During this time, the UAV doesn’t lose more than 5 meters of its height.
GBS10 system is suitable for UAVs with MTOW from 3 kg up to 120 kg and flight speed from 0 to 300 km/h. The system may be upgraded with the features of the Galaxy GRS system, which significantly increases the range of use. The MTOW is up to 2400kg, and the flight speed is 360km/h. The system is tested under Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment (RTCA/DO-160). The proper function was proved under extreme conditions of -40 °C up to 70°C and humidity 95%.
The system is designed in dedication to minimally affect the UAV operating time or performance when not used. The extreme compactness and light weight of the whole system fulfill this. It is even less than 2% of the Maximal Take-Off Weight. This makes the system the lightest on the market.
GBS10 is compatible with any control system, and communication is standard via CAN Bus or PWM signal. However, the communication protocol may be custom upgraded. In addition, the GBS10 system may be powered directly via a UAV power system, or an external battery may be used.
The system is constantly updated and improved. One of the recent improvements is the GBS10 system’s full upgradeability with features of the Galaxy GRS systems, thanks to the Tough G2 control unit. In addition, recently, the AI control unit and independent launcher have been developed and will be available as an optional upgrade.
Only close cooperation with customers may generate a better and safer system. Custom modifications such as hardware and electronic upgrades, custom extension electronic modules, and container holders up to testing and certification under ASTM, CAA, etc., are all available upon request.
