HEADS Pro Design Software for Highway, Expressway, Hill Road, Rural Road, Tunnel, and Pavement

Most current projects are widening 2/4 Lane Highways to 4/6/8 Lane Expressways, where the existing road is strengthened with pavement overlay and widened with new construction on the side. Along the alignment of the route, the side of the widening changes its pattern from left to concentric to the right. In PPP / BOT mode projects, there are requirements for route Re-alignments, Bye-passes, Vehicular / Pedestrian Underpasses, Elevated Flyovers, Service roads, Bus Bays, Truck Lay Byes, Rail over bridges, box pushed Rail/Road underpasses, Toll Plaza, etc. These make the design quite complex and are done in parts by various market-available software products.

HEADS Pro is capable of producing the design & estimation for the entire route in one go with automatic sheet layout for best quality sophisticated PLAN-PROFILE-CROSS SECTION drawings in CAD form for construction; this saves design time substantially.

HEADS Pro uses Hi-Tech facilities like Satellite/Google Earth-based alignment design for 4/6/8 Lane National/Federal Highway or Expressway projects, GPS instrument-based alignment design, which is very useful for Hill road projects, processing for Digital Terrain Model (DTM) by using downloaded Ground Topography data from the internet with Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM, made available by Global Mapper) and without carrying out any field Survey and so on, all these utilize the latest features available with the advent of internet & satellite technology. This also saves design time substantially.

HEADS Pro has special techniques for the design of Hill Roads requiring extra widening at curves and by using Bearing Line data, Slopes varying with the depth of cut, Providing Gabion walls on the cut side, and Retaining walls on the fill side by interface analysis.

HEADS Pro also features the design of Tunnels, Pavements, and Drainage by producing construction drawings and Bills of Quantities. It uses Topo-survey data from Total Station, Auto Level, GPS, downloaded from the Internet (SRTM), etc. It is best processed to create the Digital Terrain Model (DTM) by triangulation and ground contours. HEADS Pro has a full range of Flexible & Rigid pavement design facilities in AASHTO & IRC Standard, also for low-cost rural roads. It also features Asphalt/Bituminous Mix Design for AC/BC, SDBC, DBM, and BM for Quality Control at Construction Site.

HEADS Pro supports road pavement rehabilitation by using various Fiberglass ‘Geogrids’ and by obtaining the strength improvement result from the detailed step-wise report. For example, strengthening the wearing course of Bituminous Pavement by using Geo Synthetics may be done by determining the strength of various products for applied traffic load by using Layered System Analysis; the pavement overlay design may be done with statistical analysis of Benkelman Beam Deflection test data with temperature and seasonal corrections.

HEADS Pro has provisions for maintaining Land Acquisition records by interconnecting Land maps as CAD drawings and Land records in the Microsoft ACCESS Database Management System. The process is straightforward and valuable in various highway development projects.

Guide for Obtaining License (for one year and from the second-year License is renewable):

Step 1: HEADS Pro Professional Version will be downloaded and installed on a PC/Laptop on which the License will be made. The downloaded and installed version is initially “Unauthorized Version” (if not licensed on the PC before); the “License Activation key” is required to make the version “Authorized.”

 Step 2: The License is made on a particular PC/Laptop and cannot be shifted to another PC/Laptop before renewal. The web-based License is made on a particular pc or laptop. During the license period, it can be uninstalled and re-installed (if the system is formatted) any number of times, and the License will remain active on that PC or Laptop.

Step 3: Open the main screen of HEADS Pro by clicking the mouse on the desktop icon “ASTRA Pro Release 24”, Go to the menu ‘File’ and then select the item “Enter License Activation Key.” The dialog box appears with the customer’s ‘Computer ID.’ Mention the customer’s name, email ID, and Contact/Whatsapp number. In the ‘Message’ box, mention the product name. Next, click on the button ‘Send Mail’ to send mail, and the email will come to Techsoft.

Step 4: Techsoft will send the “License Activation Key” to the customer by email / Whatsapp by the next working day. Once again, the customer has to go to the menu ‘File’ and select the item “Enter License Activation Key.” The dialog box appears with the same ‘Computer ID.’ Enter the ‘License Activation Key’ in its box, click on the button “Activate,” and the License will be activated for one month. The validity will be displayed at the bottom of the main screen of HEADS Pro. After expiry, the License may be activated by subscription payment.

Step 5: The License will be for one year (standard). From the second year onwards, every year user has to renew the License by making payment for the annual subscription.

Step 6: The License is based on a particular PC/Laptop computer. The License activated in any PC/Laptop computer cannot be shifted to another PC/Laptop computer.
