EUmark Set 06 — compact marking kit with stencil printer
The mark takes two to five seconds. Ordering a stencil for content you have never marked before takes days — unless the printer is on the same bench. Set 06 is the least expensive EUmark configuration that removes that wait: type the content, print the stencil, mark the part.
A controlled low-voltage current carries an electrolyte through the stencil into the part and converts the surface chemistry in the exposed pattern. Nothing melts, nothing is displaced, nothing is cut away.
What it does, stated plainly
Set 06 produces black oxide marking: a shallow, high-contrast dark mark. That covers most identification work — serial numbers, part numbers, logos, asset tags, date and lot codes.
What it does not do
It does not produce deep etch. For marks with real depth — where a drawing specifies etch depth rather than contrast, or the mark has to survive media blasting or years of abrasive handling — you need a full machine: Set 01, Set 03 or SUPER SET 04.
Set 01 is the direct comparison worth making. Same price bracket, full machine with deep etch, but no printer. The choice between the two is simply this: do you need depth, or do you need to print your own stencils? Not both, on either of these two.
What the P58D printer is good at, and what it is not
The 58 mm printer produces excellent text, serial numbers, part numbers, date codes and fine line artwork. Thin strokes transfer cleanly, which makes it the right tool for the identification work most shops actually do, and for outline logos.
It is not the printer for machine-readable symbols. QR codes, barcodes, thick strokes and large solid black areas should be avoided at this width — they do not transfer reliably. If your marking has to carry a scannable code, SUPER SET 04 and Set 07 use the wider printers and the software built for it.
We would rather you knew that before ordering than after.

The electrolyte
Set 06 ships with a sample electrolyte to get you marking immediately. Full 200 ml bottles of M21, M22 and M23 are available separately once you know which one suits your material — each ships with a safety data sheet, which quality and EHS functions need for incoming inspection and the audit file.
M21 is self-cleaning and gets a high number of marks from one wetting of the felt — the choice for running a batch without stopping to re-wet. M23 is non-corrosive and suits corrosion-sensitive materials; wipe with a dry cloth after marking. Send us your alloy and we will tell you which to order.

Artwork that works
Thin lines, outlined text and open lettering reproduce best, whether printed or photo-etched. Thick strokes and large solid black areas should be avoided: the electrolyte does not pass evenly through them and the mark comes out patchy. Where a logo is heavy, an outlined version marks far better than a filled one. Strokes below about 0.008″ (0.2 mm) tend to close up.
For long-life photo stencils, send artwork as SVG, DXF, AI or EPS with the part finish, and we will tell you what will hold before you commit.
Questions we get
What’s the real difference between this and Set 01?
The machine, not the price. Set 01 runs black oxide marking and deep etch but has no printer. Set 06 has the printer but runs black marking only. If you will never need depth, Set 06 is the better buy — you get to print your own stencils for a similar price. If there’s any chance you’ll need depth later, Set 01 saves you from buying twice.
What’s the difference between this and Set 05?
The stencil printer. Set 05 is the same compact machine without it — you mark with photo stencils you order from us. If your marking content is one fixed design, Set 05 is enough. If it changes from part to part, the printer in Set 06 is worth the difference.
Can the printer produce a data matrix or QR code?
Not reliably at 58 mm. Codes need the wider printers in SUPER SET 04 or Set 07. The P58D is a text and fine-line printer, and it is very good at that.
Will it mark hardened steel?
Yes. There is no thermal or mechanical input, so hardness and geometry are unaffected. This is why the process is used after heat treatment and final finishing rather than before.
Does marking affect corrosion resistance on stainless?
Not when the marked area is neutralized with N11 Neutralyte and passivated along with the rest of the part under your existing procedure.
